PRIVACY POLICY
- We highly value
personal privacy. While we would prefer not to collect any
information regarding other persons, that would make it
impossible to accomplish our objective of making our
condominium available as a vacation rental. Therefore we
will collect and use information, but only as necessary and
in accordance with this policy.
- We will never
rent or sell your personal information to anyone, nor give
any other person your information except as described below
under Information Sharing.
- If there is any
change to our privacy policy it will be published here
before going into effect, and changed policies will apply
only to information collected after the change is published.
Information we collect and how we use
it
- Information you
provide will be collected and used as necessary to
accomplish the purpose for which you provide the
information.
- When you inquire
regarding the availability of the condominium or book a
reservation we may collect information including your name,
address, phone number, email address, IP address, age,
PayPal account ID, and names and ages of those who may
travel with you. Prior to accepting a reservation we
require an image of a government issued photo identification
for the person making the reservation in order to verify
identity.
- If you do not
pursue a reservation with us, we will delete and discard the
information you provide as soon as we determine the
information will not be needed. If you do make a
reservation, we will retain the information until it is no
longer needed.
- We may use
information you give us to communicate with you regarding
your rental of our unit, to collect payments and refund
deposits, and to deal with any issues that might arise
related to your rental of the unit.
- We will never
spam you. If we ever create a mailing list or
newsletter only those who opt-in will be included on it, and
we will always provide a link to opt out of future
communications.
- Cookies are
needed to complete some of our purposes including the
completion of online forms. The use of cookies is standard
on the Internet. The cookie itself does not identify you nor
your email address and is not tied to personally
identifiable information. We use the information it provides
to help us improve the site and our service. Most browsers
automatically accept cookies; however, you can usually
change your browser to block cookies or notify you whenever
you are sent a cookie. This gives you the chance to decide
whether or not to accept the cookie. If you choose not to
accept cookies it may prevent you from completing an online
order.
- We use other
services including Google Analytics to help us to understand
and better serve our customers. Reports from these services
may contain information including the source of visitors to
our site, the general geographic location of the visitor,
what pages the visitor views, what type of browser the
visitor uses, what search terms led visitors to our site,
and similar information.
- Your IP address
may be collected and appended to communications with us;
while that does not directly disclose your identity, all
internet users should be aware that they inevitably leave
tracks that might identify them.
- When you send
email or other communication, we may retain those
communications in order to process your inquiries, respond
to your requests, and improve our services.
- Our website and
products are not directed to children under age 13, and we
do not knowingly collect nor maintain information on any
person under age 13 except those listed as guests.
- If you provide
comments regarding products obtained from us, we may use
your comments for purposes of promoting our vacation rental
by methods including by publishing them on this website,
vrbo.com, or elsewhere. If we do disclose your comments, we
will not disclose your name but may disclose initials or a
common first name and your city and state. If you prefer
that this not be disclosed, you may notify us at the time
you provide the comments or any time after, and we will
delete the comments from the website and any other form in
which they are used as quickly as is reasonably possible;
however, we may not be able to remove comments posted on
websites which we do not control.
Choices for personal information
You may decline to submit personal information,
in which case we may not be able to provide services or rent
to you.
Information sharing
We may share your personal information with
other companies or individuals in the following limited
circumstances:
- If you give your
consent.
- To process
payments and refunds. We may disclose information
including name, email address, dates of travel, and amounts
paid, to any company used to process credit card charges or
cash checks.
- If a person
providing services, such as a cleaner, maintenance person,
or a manager of the complex, will need to identify you we
may inform that person of your name.
- In the event we
sell our property, we may disclose to the purchaser the
information of persons with reservations for stays that will
occur after closing of the sale, and the purchaser would be
obligated to honor all reservations. The purchaser's
privacy policy would control what the purchaser might do
with your information. If you would object to this
disclosure, you may notify us at any time and we would
inform you if a contract to purchase the property has been
signed and you would have the opportunity to cancel any stay
that would occur after closing and to receive a full refund
of all money paid.
- If we have a
good faith belief that access, use, preservation or
disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to
(a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or
enforceable governmental request, (b) detect, prevent, or
otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or
(c) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety
of any person. In the event we feel compelled under this
provision to disclose your personal information we will
notify you as soon as lawfully and practically possible so
that you might take steps to protect your interests if you
so desire.
Information security
- We take
appropriate security measures to protect against
unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration,
disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal
reviews of our data collection, storage and processing
practices and security measures, as well as physical
security measures to guard against unauthorized access to
systems where we store personal data.
- We restrict
access to personal information to those persons who have an
actual need to know.
- We use Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt pages on which
personal data may be collected to deter unauthorized persons
from obtaining it while it travels between your computer and
our server.
